Water Testing
For the water test to be accurate and our recommendations to be valid, certain guidelines need to be followed.
Your pool or hot tub must be running for 24 hours
Any sample taken before the system is running can result in inaccurate results. It is both a waste of time and effort that will likely cause issues with the water chemistry down the road. |
Take your sample as deep as possible
A sample taken at the surface will be heavily influence by sunlight (UV), surface contamination, rainwater and possible temperature variations. The sample will not reflect the true water chemistry. |
Provide a fresh sample
The longer a sample is out of the pool, the more likely it will be affected by light and the container. If the sample is warmed and cooled beyond the typical temperature range, the greater the inaccuracies. |
If it is raining...
We typically will not test water during a rainy period since the results will be mostly those of the rain and not the pool. Your sample must be taken from as deep as possible to ensure we are testing your pool water and not rain water. |
